• "I have Experiences" Education for Girls is Very Important By Jane Rita Mutaawe, Senior 4, Kikaaya College School Girls should be given an equal opportunity to study as boys, but in most cases girls are left to live without education. This is likely to affect their future and is disadvantageous in the world of today. First and foremost, the heavenly father (God) managed a gender balance whereby he created man and woman in his own image. He went on giving them food to eat and clothes to put on. In this case, I don't see the reason why girls are not given the same opportunity to study as boys, if God managed such equality. Furthermore, if you look at the world of today, in almost every opportunity you are likely to find a woman. For example, the city council contains women. This implies that now days women are hard working. Today, they don't consider the sex (male/female), instead they consider the certificates. Therefore, this business of adopting the past culture in which women were not supposed to study should be abolished. This will aid in the development of our country. In addition, mothers of the nation should be able to study. Girls are the ones to produce and take care of children. How will a mother be able to educate her child if she is not educated herself? Girls should be encouraged to study since we face a lot of difficulties. If we are able to learn, we shall be able to manage the future when we become mothers. I usually feel perturbed to see that we girls are not given an equal opportunity as boys at school. This is an offence to the parents and they should not leave girls to suffer since it might be the girl, if educated, to save a family from poverty, Girls should be given the same opportunities as boys. It is always said that the early bird catches the worm, so this advice is for parents to educate the girls earlier in order that the whole family and society can benefit from their education. |
