Nasredeen Abdulbari
Nasredeen Abdulbari is a human rights scholar from Sudan. In 2002 he completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Khartoum. In 2005 he completed his thesis on “Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights in Sudan” and graduated with a Masters of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Khartoum. Adbulbari served as a lecturer and teaching assistant in the International and Comparative Law Department at the University of Khartoum, Sudan from 2002- 2005. He also served as a Legal Aid Coordinator at the University of Khartoum. In 2006 he arrived at Harvard Law School as a visiting scholar and entered the Harvard LL.M program in 2007. EdForDev was active in Abdulbari's transition to the United States and in his TOEFL preparation. Abdulbari is fluent in Fur (the Darfurian language), Arabic and English. His principal legal interests are human rights, constitutional law and jurisprudence.
Renaud Bangadi Kiki
Bangadi Kiki Renaud ("Kiki") is a Gabonese student at the University of Montana, pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science.
In 2003, Kiki began the process of realizing his dream to study in the United States. Through the persistent study of English, research and application to several American universities, and after passing his Baccalaureat exams in Gabon, Kiki was accepted at the University of Montana in the spring of 2005. With assistance from EdForDev, he arrived in Missoula in August of that year to begin university studies.
Kiki currently works with the Bureau of Business and Economics Research at the University of Montana. He also serves as a Senator in the ASUM Student Government and has sat on the University Center Board and on the Mansfield Library Diversity Committee. Email
James Christie
James Christie, Lewis & Clark College graduate of '03, taught Creative Writing at Kikaaya College in Uganda from October 2005-June 2006. James' desire to make a career out of his writing was supported daily through his work teaching writing to students in Uganda. In addition to teaching daily courses, James created a writing magazine for his 250 students through which they wrote, edited, and published their work. Anna Levitt
Anna Levitt flew to Uganda in July, 2005 soon after graduating with a degree in Engineering from Smith College. As part of her transition into the career world, Anna managed the School Construction project for EdforDev in Uganda. Read Anna's Blog.
